Our Team

Simon Hecker (Ph.D)

is a passionate entrepreneur and enthusiastic motorcyclist.

Having successfully completed his Ph.D in machine learning for autonomous driving at ETH Zurich he now strives to apply his technical skill set to build great high-tech products and safety systems for motorcycles. The initial idea for Aegis Rider came to him while navigating a Swiss alpine mountain pass and seeing expert riders overtake him.

Timon Gentzsch (M.Sc. M.Sc.)

is an enthusiastic motorcyclist since he was 16 and an engineer at heart.

Before Aegis Rider, Timon completed his master studies at RWTH Aachen University and Tsinghua University, where he specialized in automotive engineering. During his studies, he gained experience in autonomous driving, hardware design as well as system integration. As part of Aegis Rider, he sees the opportunity to contribute and develop his skills in a deep tech startup.

Nicolas Zobernig (M.Sc.)

is a driven engineer and avid cyclist, where his passion for two-wheelers originated.

Prior to Aegis Rider, Nicolas completed his master degree at ETH Zurich, where he specialized in signal processing and machine learning. In particular, he found his enthusiasm in the topics of augmented reality and computer vision. Aegis Rider sparked his interest in riding motorcycles and offered the ideal environment to pursue his passion.

Karsten Hagge (B.Sc.)

is a big fan of dynamic environments such as powered two-wheelers, skiing and snowboarding or racing.

Before Aegis Rider, Karsten worked for 6 years in M&A and leveraged finance, completing over 15 cross-border transactions in Europe. Karsten's focus has been on the consumer tech space with vast experience with companies in the fields of XR, eSports and spatial computing.
