Quick answers
A full-face motorcycle helmet (built on the Nexx X.WST3 platform) with an integrated computer, three cameras, speakers, microphone and battery, plus a see-through display module, the AR Optics, that clicks on magnetically. It shows speed, speed limit and navigation on the road ahead of you, anchored to your motorcycle rather than to your head, so the display leaves your view when you turn to look and returns when you face forward. Your phone pairs with it for navigation, calls and music.
No. Everything is included with the purchase, the app is free, updates are free, nothing is locked later.
Only for spatial anchoring, the bike-anchored display. With the phone in your pocket the helmet runs in Static Mode: the display shows speed and navigation fixed in your view, and camera, calls and music all work. To unlock spatial anchoring, mount the phone rigidly on the bars in the same position every ride (a 1–2° difference matters; it can be hidden, but never in a pocket or a tank bag) or fit the Pro-Box under the seat and keep the phone in your pocket.
A small module mounted on the motorcycle, for example under the seat, with a high-precision GNSS receiver and inertial sensors. It replaces the phone as the vehicle-side sensor: nothing on the handlebar, positioning more precise than a phone’s GPS, and the basis for the upcoming road-ahead features. One per bike you ride often, transferable with a new calibration ride. Order it with the helmet or add it later in the shop.
Glasses: most glasses fit fine under the helmet with the AR Optics, progressive lenses included. Our founder rides with glasses himself. The display is projected at distance, so you read it like the road, not like a screen. Very bulky temples or wide frames can get tight at the sides, which is rare; if the outermost position still touches your frame, you have 30 days to return. Unsure? Send us a photo of your frame.
Calibration builds a model of one motorcycle. The AR Vision Companion guides an approximately 10-minute ride, uploads the measurements and downloads the completed profile after processing, which can take up to about two hours. Five motorcycle slots are included. Static Mode can be used before a profile is ready. Do not delete the bike: open it in the Garage and run the calibration again; a deleted bike does not return its slot. Extra slots can be purchased in the app.
Yes, with any motorcycle. Your bike needs no display, no Bluetooth and no connection to the helmet. The motorcycle-side sensor is your phone mounted rigidly on the handlebar, or the Pro-Box. Riders use it on everything from a 2001 Ducati ST3 to a Goldwing and an R 1300 GS. Several bikes? Calibrate each once and switch in the Garage; five slots are included. Not supported: three-wheelers that don’t lean (the calibration fails). Not tested: quads. Ask us before ordering for those.
About 4–6 hours with the AR display active, depending on brightness, music and video recording; longer without the AR Optics. You can charge while riding over USB-C from your bike's USB outlet or a power bank, so full riding days beyond 14 hours are possible. A full charge from empty takes about two hours. The battery is built in and not user-swappable; it is covered by the 2-year warranty.

Speakers and a microphone are built in. Today, calls, music and navigation prompts run through your paired phone, so a group call on WhatsApp works with any brand of helmet your friends wear; there is no rider-to-pillion or mesh radio in the helmet yet. Universal Sena/Cardo support is in development as a software update, without a date yet (the helmet already has Bluetooth 5.2). If you want your own intercom now, contact us to arrange in-house fitting of your helmet and unit. We remove the built-in speakers and microphone to make room; there is no factory Sena slot on the left (our controls and battery sit there), so the unit is mounted in front of or behind the control unit.
In harsh sun, lower the integrated sun visor. Ride in rain with the main visor closed. Rain spray, low sun and dusk can reduce tracking.
About 2 kg with everything on: helmet, electronics, battery and AR Optics, a little less in the smaller shells and about 75 g less without the AR Optics. ECE 22.06 made helmets 200–300 g heavier across the board, and many lighter comparison helmets are still 22.05; for a 22.06 helmet with an integrated system this is normal. Owners on long tours describe it as noticeable but not a problem.

Live: speed, speed limit, time, navigation with 3D arrows, media and caller, front-camera recording. In beta with Founding Riders (helmet + Pro-Box): curve preview and the group-ride mini-map. In development (software update): the blind-spot warning from the rear camera, universal Sena/Cardo support. On the roadmap (software update): curvy routing in the app. “In beta” means Founding Riders are riding it; “in development” means it exists and is being tested; “on the roadmap” means it is planned, without a date. We publish no fixed date until a function has completed validation.
About 2 kg with everything on: helmet, electronics, battery and AR Optics, a little less in the smaller shells and about 75 g less without the AR Optics. The additional weight of the electronics are well balanced and close to the rotation point of the head, meaning that the effect of the additional weight is minimal.

Not yet. The tracking camera in the chin has to see the motorcycle; flipped up it would see the sky. Colours: one, carbon black matt, and no others are planned for now. Any Nexx X.WST3 visor fits, so a dark or mirrored visor is the way to change the look.
No. The electronics and tracking camera are integrated into the helmet at the factory. The AR Optics only works with the Aegis Rider Vision; the AR Optics alone is for owners who bought the helmet first. A flip-up version is not available: the chin camera has to see the motorcycle; flipped up, it would see the sky.
Measure your head circumference 2.5 cm above the eyebrows. Fits a touch tighter than a stock Nexx X.WST3. Between two sizes? Take the larger. Head shape: medium oval. Three shells: XS–S, M–L, XL–3XL; sizes within a shell differ only by the liner, which is also how a free size exchange works. To check the fit before ordering, try a stock Nexx X.WST3 at a Nexx dealer. Ours fits a touch tighter.
The helmet appears to your phone as a headset, so anything on your bike that controls the phone's media (volume, next track on many BMW, Harley and other infotainment systems) works. Nothing bike-specific controls the AR display.
The Aegis Rider Vision helmet is ECE 22.06 approved, based on the Nexx X.WST3 base helmet, with our electronics integrated at the Nexx factory. The full system, helmet and AR Optics, is RED-certified and CE-marked for its radio functions.
The Aegis Rider Vision helmet is ECE R 22.06 certified in its original delivered configuration, but when the optional AR Optics are attached, this modified configuration is no longer covered by that ECE homologation.
The ECE R 22.06 standard was unfortunately developed without considerations for head-up displays and the integration of these into motorcycle helmets. As such, the standard defines that nothing may be present in the field of view of the rider, including virtual information such as the HUD. It is thus currently not possible to certify head-up-displays together with motorcycle helmets and will only be possible with an amendment of the standard.
Helmet + AR Optics £1,399; helmet alone £849; AR Optics alone for owners £550; Pro-Box {price:Pro-Box}. Prices include VAT and follow the selected region. Klarna instalments and the payment methods shown at checkout are available where supported. No subscription.

If it doesn’t fit or doesn’t convince you, send it back within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. Founding Riders too. Size exchanges within 30 days are free.
The AR processing runs on the helmet, not on our servers. Our infrastructure is needed at three moments only: first activation, vehicle calibration and updates. If we ever discontinued the service, we would ship an offline calibration solution and a final firmware so existing helmets stay fully usable. The compute unit and the AR Optics can also be reused in a future compatible helmet.
The AR Optics gets warm on hot days; it houses two displays. Owners move it one position further out on very hot rides, and on very hot days a temperature warning can appear.
